October 4, 2020

This November, the Town of Bristol requests the adoption of proposed amendments to the local Zoning Regulations to include subdivision regulations for the town.

The resulting proposed document would be named the “Town of Bristol Unified Development Regulations.” The amended document is intended to implement the Bristol Town Plan and streamline the development review process, which affects all types of development throughout the town.

Bristol voters have the opportunity to vote in favor of or against these proposed amendments via “Article 1” on a local election ballot. Please note: This ballot will need to be requested by voters from the Town of Bristol and will NOT be mailed to you automatically.

The proposed Bristol Unified Development Regulations are available on the Town website (www.bristolvt.org).

Note: Due to COVID‐19, we highly recommend that you vote absentee rather than in person on November 3, 2020.

If you wish to vote in person on Election Day, please wear a mask and bring your absentee ballot to cast your vote.

In-person voting will be from 7 am to 7 pm on November 3, 2020, at Holley Hall.

Visit www.bristolvt.org/voting for full voting information.

1. To obtain an Absentee Ballot for the “Article 1” local election, please contact Town Clerk Sharon Lucia at (802) 453‐2410 ext. 5 or at clerk@bristolvt.org.

2. On the local ballot, place an X in either the approval box or opposed to box for the amendments. Please use a black pen.

3. Place your ballot in the Certificate Envelope and be sure to fill out the front of the Certificate Envelope and sign it. The number one reason ballots are not counted is because the voter forgets to sign the envelope.

4. Absentee ballots can be returned in one of 4 ways before Election Day:

a. Mail to the Bristol Town Clerk using the prepaid return envelope;

b. Deposit in the large Drop Box at the entrance of the Town Office at 1 South Street at any time;

c. Hand‐deliver to the Town Office during the new open hours of Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon; or

d. Please bring it to the polling place in person at Holley Hall on November 3, 2020, between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.

If you are unsure if you are registered to vote or want to check if your mailing address is correct, please visit https://mvp.vermont.gov. This site allows you to submit changes and register to vote.
