The Town of Bristol is seeking citizens interested to serve as the Town Health Officer.  The THO is responsible for investigating possible public health hazards and risks within the town and working with the Selectboard as the Board of Health.  Medical training is not necessary; knowledge of building trades is helpful.  The THO is appointed by the Vermont Commissioner of Health to a 3-year term upon recommendation by the Selectboard.  Please submit a letter of interest or e-mail to the Bristol Selectboard, P.O. ● JOB OPPORTUNITY: Bristol Police Officer

The Bristol Police Department is accepting applications for full and part-time police officers. We are a community-oriented agency serving the citizens in the Police District and broader community.   The Town of Bristol offers a competitive wage and benefits package and is a member of the New England Police Benevolent Association.

● JOB OPPORTUNITY: Zoning & Planning Administrator

The Town of Bristol is seeking a part-time Zoning & Planning Administrator. Duties include implementing the Town of Bristol’s Unified Development Regulations, which includes zoning and subdivision bylaws, floodplain regulations, and a downtown design review district; administering the permit and development review process; enforcement actions for non-compliance; assistance to the public; and assistance to the Planning Commission, Development Review Board, Downtown Review Commission and other Town officials.  The ZPA also serves as the E-911 Coordinator.  The position entails evening meetings and flexible daytime work at the Town Office, estimated at approximately 20 hours per week.
