The Bristol Selectboard, acting as the Water Commissioners, will hold a public hearing on a proposed water usage rate change on Monday, November 23, 2026, beginning at 7:00 PM, at the Town Offices, 1 South Street. You can also join by Zoom (details below).
What would change
The Water Commissioners propose to amend Appendix B of the Bristol Water Use Ordinance (Schedule of Rates and Charges):
- Water usage charge: from $6.50 to $7.50 per 1,000 gallons.
- Bulk water bought from a Town hydrant, beyond the first 10,000 gallons: from $6.50 to $7.50 per 1,000 gallons.
All other water rates and charges would stay the same. The Water Commissioners may vote on the proposed rate after the hearing.
As published, the new rate would apply to water usage metered on or after July 1, 2026, including water used between July 1 and the date of the vote. Customers would see the new rate on the bill covering that period.
